52 Week Project 2020

When I decided I wanted to attempt a photo a week project again, I had no idea what 2020 would have in store for all of us. It goes without saying it was a year unlike any we’ve ever experienced and so finding the motivation to pick up my camera, even just once a week was a little bit of a challenge this year. But in the end, I got there. A few images may be from the same week but, as I think we all should, I’m giving myself some grace with this past year. It was a long year. It was a hard year. But it also had moments of joy and helped us all remember to slow down and really appreciate the things we still have and may have otherwise continued to take for granted - our home, our health, the simple fact that even after 9+ months of being our primary source for human interactions my little family loves each other, my boys love each other and have been a blessing to have as playmates for each other. My husband is amazing and handy and has worked tirelessly to make sure our home continues to be a place we want to be. And gathering these images together has helped me remember the good, and realize that I can still create images I am proud of even when I felt weighed down and stressed for the majority of the year.

So with the year behind us, and while we’re still not quite out of the woods, I hope you all will stop and remember the little blessings you still have too. I’m wishing all of us continued health and peace into this new year. And with that, my 52 (or so..) weekly images from 2020.

Aruba 2019

Earlier this month I went to Aruba to photograph a wedding with my girls, Jess Vogelsang, and Suzannah Paul and man, it did not disappoint. What a beautiful island. I promise I’m not really all about the “selfie” game but I will totally own that I selfied the heck out of myself on this trip. :-P . I just couldn’t get enough of the blue water, white sand and gorgeous scenery. This post is purely of my personal photos so includes some cell phone snaps, along with my big girl camera, because I just can’t resist sharing. I will definitely be sharing a post of the wedding photos I took at some point because it was seriously the best thing ever! Stay tuned
