Jessica and I traveled to Van Buren Point, New York for our first destination wedding at the end of June. We had high hopes for lovely portraits beside Lake Erie and, despite the buckets of rain that fell that day, we were not disappointed. Our bride and groom were surrounded by love and enthusiastic out of towners willing to celebrate in a bit more mud than anticipated.

I have been looking forward to Liz and Ryan's wedding since the moment they first booked me. Liz is like family to me. She's another "sister" who was always at my house. She took her first road trip with my sister as a teenager to visit my husband and I. They proceeded to drive us crazy, but that's another story.
So when it came to photographing this wedding, it didn't feel like work. It felt like hanging out with my family. I teared up when everyone walked down the aisle, and Liz and Ryan first saw each other. And I've never seen Liz's dad look more happy, or proud. It was a good day. It was an exceptionally happy day, and I am so so glad I got to be there to share it with them.
