National Aviary, Pittsburgh Wedding, Bella and Liam

Liam and Bella exchanged vows at the beautiful St. Pauls Cathedral in Pittsburgh last March. While we planned for many portraits on the Carnegie Mellon steps, it ended up being a really chilly day so we quickly photographed as much as we could in Oakland and then continued the celebrations at the National Aviary. Thankfully the Aviary offers amazing opportunities for stunning photographs while staying comfy inside. We visited with the flamingos and penguins and then partied the night away on the dance floor (Grandma, especially, had a blast and was a hit!).

I first met Bella (& Liam) when I photographed her sister’s wedding in 2023 and I am always so so honored to be invited back to a family’s special moments. The day felt more like a family reunion for me than a job and I simply adored working with these two. In honor of their upcoming one year anniversary, I wanted to share some of my favorite images from the day!

Many thanks to Susie for helping me photograph this wedding and many thanks to these other vendors for their collaboartion on the day!

Pittsburgh Family Photographer, The G Family

So many of my former brides and grooms have been having babies and allowing me to document their growing families and I AM HERE FOR IT!

Take this gorgeous pair. They were married two years ago at one of my favorite venues, Soldiers and Sailors, and now have this adorable little boy. And he is a character. I seriously love photographing toddlers because you never quite know what you’re going to get (and usually it’s a little bit of everything!). But I promise, even if your toddler runs away from me or pouts a little bit, we will all work together to get those smiles and just go with the flow. I want family sessions with me to be easy and not stressful for anyone, so if your little wants to run, jump, throw, kick, I’ll document that. Those tickle fights and throwing babes in the air - my favorite! As a mom to two growing boys myself, I know kids don’t always want to cooperate, particularly with a camera in their face. But I promise to laugh right along with you all and help redirect that energy. These are just some of the reasons I love this job. You never know what you’re going to get and I absolutely love seeing former couples come back with their little ones.

(*For the record, this little man was an absolute joy and has the best smile! Check out all those grins below! I cannot wait to have all of them back in front of my camera again!)
